Intra-articular corticosteroid (cortisone) injection
A steroid placed directly into an inflamed joint, to reduce pain and swelling.
PRP therapy — platelet-rich plasma
Plasma prepared from your own blood, injected into a joint or around a tendon.
Hyaluronic acid (joint gel) injection
Hyaluronic acid placed into the joint to improve how the surfaces glide.
Joint fluid aspiration
Drawing off excess fluid from a joint — both for relief and to establish the cause.
Paravertebral block
An injection aimed at the pain and inflammation of a compressed nerve in the spine.
Soft-tissue rheumatism — tendons, bursae and ligaments
Heel, shoulder, elbow and wrist pain: bursitis, tendinitis, epicondylitis, fasciitis and trigger finger.

Rheumatoid arthritis — diagnosis and treatment
Symmetrical swelling of the fingers and toes with morning stiffness. Early treatment protects the joint.
Osteoarthritis — diagnosis and treatment
Joint wear, often called "salt deposits" in everyday speech. Most often the knee, hands and hip.
Gout — diagnosis and treatment
Sudden, very severe pain in the big toe, starting at night. Caused by uric acid crystals.
Ankylosing spondylitis
Back pain that is worse at night and in the early morning and eases with movement. It starts young.
Psoriatic arthritis
Joint inflammation alongside psoriasis. Whole-finger swelling and nail changes are characteristic.
Lupus — systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
An autoimmune disease that can affect many organs. Butterfly rash, joint pain and fatigue.
Osteoporosis — thinning of the bones
Falling bone density and rising fracture risk. It gives no symptoms for a long time.
Systemic autoimmune and rarer rheumatic diseases
Scleroderma, Raynaud's, Sjögren's, vasculitis, Behçet's, dermatomyositis, FMF and fibromyalgia.

Any test results you already have, your X-ray, ultrasound and MRI images, and a list of the medicines you are currently taking. A photograph of the medicine boxes is enough.
A first consultation usually takes 20–40 minutes. The length depends on how complex the complaint is and varies from patient to patient.
No. Which tests are needed usually becomes clear after the examination. Bringing whatever you already have is enough.
No. Joint pain has many causes: wear, soft-tissue problems, nerve compression and inflammatory disease. Telling these apart is precisely what the examination is for.
Many people report that their symptoms increase when the weather changes. It does not mean the disease has worsened, and it does not usually call for a change of treatment.
